Every guest signs this consent so we can record the conversation and publish it online. Please take your time to read it and understand it in full, then sign below.
This Guest Appearance Release & Consent (“Release”) is entered into between you (the “Guest”) and The Callout Show (the “Producer”). By signing below, you agree to the following in exchange for the opportunity to appear on the program.
You grant the Producer and its successors, assigns, and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right and license to record, film, photograph, edit, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, broadcast, stream, display, and otherwise use your appearance — including your name, voice, image, likeness, performance, and statements — in whole or in part, in any and all media now known or hereafter developed, including the Producer’s website and third-party platforms (including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook), and in related promotional, marketing, and advertising materials.
You acknowledge that you are appearing voluntarily and that, unless otherwise agreed in a separate signed writing, you will not receive any compensation, royalty, or residual for your appearance or its use. You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished program or the use of your appearance.
You acknowledge and agree that the recording may be edited, shortened, repurposed into clips, and presented alongside opposing viewpoints, and that excerpts may be used out of the full conversation’s context. You waive any claim arising from the editing or presentation of the program made in good faith, including any claim of defamation or false light based on such editing.
You understand that the opinions, claims, and statements you make are solely your own. You represent and warrant that they are truthful to the best of your knowledge, do not infringe any third party’s rights, and are not defamatory. You agree to indemnify and hold the Producer harmless from any claim arising out of statements you make during your appearance.
You understand The Callout Show deliberately pairs guests with opposing views and that the discussion may be pointed, contentious, or uncomfortable. You participate voluntarily and assume the risk of disagreement, criticism, and public reaction.
If your appearance takes place remotely via Zoom or another video call — that is, you are not physically present in The Callout Show studio — you agree that you will: (a) have a reliable, stable internet connection adequate for live video; (b) appear with clear, adequate lighting and clear, audible sound (it need not be professional-grade, but you and your surroundings must be clearly visible and your voice clearly heard); and (c) be able to give at least one (1) hour of undivided, uninterrupted attention to the recording. You acknowledge that an unreliable connection, poor lighting or audio on your end, or interruptions during the recording may affect, delay, or prevent the use of your appearance.
You agree that you will not record, capture, copy, transcribe, screenshot, screen-capture, photograph, livestream, retransmit, or otherwise reproduce any portion or the entirety of the session — whether audio, video, or both — by any means or device, at any time, without the Producer’s prior written consent. This prohibition expressly includes, without limitation, the use of phones, cameras, screen-recording software, browser extensions, virtual-camera or audio-routing tools, and any artificial-intelligence assistant, AI note-taker, meeting bot, or automated transcription service (for example, AI meeting assistants that join or listen in on video calls). If any such AI assistant or recording tool is active on your device or account, you agree to disable it for the entire duration of the session.
The Producer is the sole owner of the official recording, and only the Producer has the right to record, edit, and publish the session. You agree not to create, edit, or distribute any clip, excerpt, transcript, or derivative work from the session, and not to publish or share any unauthorized recording in any form or on any platform. You acknowledge that the purpose of this restriction is to prevent the session from being selectively edited, altered, taken out of context, deceptively manipulated (including by AI), or otherwise used to misrepresent or harm the Producer, the host, or any participant. Any unauthorized recording, copying, or use is a material breach of this Release; you agree that the Producer may seek immediate injunctive relief in addition to any other available remedy, and you agree to indemnify and hold the Producer harmless from any harm, loss, liability, or claim arising from your unauthorized recording, editing, distribution, or use.
You represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the full right and authority to grant the rights in this Release.
You release and forever discharge the Producer and its owners, hosts, employees, affiliates, successors, assigns, and licensees from any and all claims, demands, or liability arising out of the recording or use of your appearance, including claims for defamation, invasion of privacy, violation of the right of publicity, and emotional distress.
This Release constitutes the entire agreement regarding your appearance and is binding upon your heirs and representatives. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. This Release is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Producer operates.
This document is a standard appearance release provided for convenience and is not legal advice. For high-stakes appearances, both parties may wish to have it reviewed by an attorney.
